DonDon is a great addition to Toronto's new and growing izakaya scene! It's definitely worth a visit whether you're an izakaya lover or if you still don't know what the heck an izakaya is! :P
The best way to describe it is it's like a Japanese tapas restaurants. Lots of selection (no, it's not just sushi!) and tons of tiny dishes that are made to share with a group of friends. Oh, and don't forget to order a drink! It's more of a pub than a restaurant anyway. You'll see what I mean if you sit at the bar (sooo many sakes to choose from)!
My only complaint (as someone who doesn’t speak or read Japanese) is that I didn’t know which sake to choose… and since the labels are all in Japanese, it’s really a guessing game in the end!
